I decided to run as a "Clean Elections Candidate." The Clean Election option allows candidates to have equal access to the same amount of money so that once elected, they will not be beholden to any group other than the citizens they represent. Maine is very smart to have such a relatively unique process!
Clean Elections candidates cannot accept campaign contributions from big businesses, members of the lobby, political action committees or other special interests.
